SDDR 2026: Regulation, Reverse Vending, Costs and Challenges for Foodservice

The third session will focus on reverse vending, sustainability, and the potential implementation of the Deposit, Return, and Refund System (DRRS) in Spain. The aim is to clarify a model whose rollout could come into effect in 2026 and about which, for now, little concrete information is available. We will analyze how reverse vending works, its implications for the sector, and the challenges posed by the implementation of the DRRS. We will address key issues of concern to companies, such as the allocation of logistical, administrative, and technological costs, as well as the role of different stakeholders in their management. This session is designed to help you understand possible scenarios and anticipate the real impact of the DRRS on the Spanish market.
