Carles opened Berbena at the end of 2018. Berbena, a restaurant that is now a benchmark of Barcelona’s bistronomic scene, has been joined by its sister restaurant, Pompa, since May 2025. Located just 30 meters away, Pompa further strengthens the growing scene of reinvented Catalan cuisine.

Berbena and Pompa are distinguished by their commitment to the essential elements of good food and service (homemade bread and an extensive, well-curated wine list of some 600 wines, among other things), as well as an ethical commitment to dignifying the profession by providing good working conditions for their staff.
