HIP Drives Sustainability in the Horeca Sector

Sustainability Partner

Biosphere CERTIFIED

At HIP – Horeca Professional Expo, we are deeply committed to sustainability. Our main goal is to promote sustainability in the Horeca sector. Contributing to competitiveness also means contributing to sustainability.

Being a Biosphere-certified event is a testament to our efforts to have a positive impact on the environment, society, communities, industries, and the economy.

Donation to Cáritas Valencia

A donation of €6,000 to Cáritas Valencia to support the work they are carrying out with the victims of the DANA in Valencia in 2024.

The disaster caused by the DANA on October 29, 2024, left immense suffering in the province of Valencia. Today, those who have lost everything need help to get back on their feet and start dreaming again.

The collaboration with Cáritas Valencia is a recurring donation to support urgent humanitarian causes at each edition.

Collaboration with the Food Bank

The fight against food waste is part of our core values. At HIP, we encourage both exhibitors and our catering providers to donate leftover food at the end of the event to the Madrid Food Bank.

We are the trade fair that collects the most food in the Iberian Peninsula.

In 2025, we donated a total of 13,372 kg to the Madrid Food Bank.

Towards Zero Waste. Everything Has a Second Life

At HIP, we are deeply committed to the environment. In recent years, we have eliminated paper from our event with digital initiatives such as the visitor guide in the HIP app, the exhibitor guide via QR codes, and moving from paper lists for institutional and networking activities to using tablets.

We always provide recycling points and containers to separate waste throughout the four pavilions of HIP – Horeca Professional Expo. There are also water fountains in common areas so you can refill your own water bottle.

Additionally, at the Hospitality 4.0 Congress, we cover a wide range of topics related to sustainability through specific summits such as People Product Planet, New Food Trends, and New Concepts.

Decent Work and Economic Growth

The HIP 2025 event generated an economic impact of €84 million for Madrid, turning the city into the global capital of Horeca innovation during the three days of the event.

Thus, the summit stands as the most important international event in the Horeca sector, where the entire hospitality industry comes together with the common goal of setting a roadmap toward a more competitive, digitalized, sustainable, and socially responsible industry.
